Fender Time - Paint It Black

I don’t really know what Royal Enfield was thinking with all the silver accents. I get the chrome look but the plastic silver fenders had to go. ASAP. This was all completed in my flat seeing that I only have an underground shared garage that’s dusty AF. Not ideal for painting. Windows wide open in the middle of January with heat on. Parts everywhere and anywhere all over the living room and kitchen.

Step 1: Clean & Sand

After thoroughly washing down the fender I sanded the fenders down with 400-grit sandpaper. Then wet sanded with a 120-grit and rubbed down with rubbing alcohol.

Step 2: Primer

I applied a couple coats of primer. Topped it off with a guide coat and sanded it with 320-grit sandpaper. Applied another guide coat and wet-sanded with 400-grit.

Step 3: Paint

I wiped it down with rubbing alcohol. After it was dry I applied 3 coats of paint taking 15 minutes of drying time between each coat.

Done!
